9159 Series
9175 Series

The 9175 series from AVX offers customers the ability of
connecting individual wires to a single row of contacts using IDC
technology.
Available as a 2 or 3 pin connector it is both low profile and has a
small PCB footprint. The connector is SMT assembled to the PCB
prior to assembly of the wire.
Using a small application tool, the wires are then inserted into the
contact slot. This process cuts the insulation and enables the
individual conductors of the wire to form a homogeneous joint. The
shape of the molding also forms a restraint to the wire when fully
inserted in the contact. These connectors are supplied in tape and
reel for easy pick and place. The wire options are 28 or 26 AWG
solid or stranded wire.

9176 Series

9177 Series

The 9177 Series from AVX offers customers the ability of connecting
individual wires to a single row of contact using IDC technology.
Available as a single contact version or 2 and 3 way offers the user
flexibility of placement on the PCB for single or multiple wires.
Application tooling for the 9177 comes in the form of flat rock plates
for each of the sizes. The wires are inserted into the slots by the
application tools cutting through the insulation and exposing the
inner cores, which then form a homogenous joint with the contact.
The molding is shaped to form a restraint to the wire insulation
therefore adding to the strength of the joint. Supplied in tape and
reel for easy pick and place. Suitable wire options are stranded wire
between 14 and 20 AWG.

DF59 Series

The Hirose DF59 Series connector system is primarily dedicated to the LED lighting market. The multifunctional connector is suitable for wire to board power supply and board to board ‘bridge’ connections. In addition a shortening plug version is available. Only one type of receptacle is needed, irrespective of whether the cable plug or board mount plug is used, allowing a reduction in the number of components needed.
DF59 has a pitch of 2.0mm or 4.0mm, dependent on the application and the related requirement such as higher clearance and creepage distances for power supply applications. The connection system can be applied with 3A by using the defined cable gauge with AWG 22 (Ø 1.26mm / UL1061). The voltage is specified with 100V or 230V dependent on the pin size used.

DF57 Series

The Hirose DF57 Series of headers, sockets and crimp contacts has been designed with space saving in mind. The two position, for example, only occupies 18mm2 approximate board space. The height profile is a mere 1.4mm. Power performance is not compromised by the small size, an impressive 2.5 amp maximum current rating per contact can be achieved using the 2 position connector with AWG 28 wire.
High reliability is guaranteed with Hirose’s ’Swing Lock’ offering a unique double locking mechanism. During the mating operation the receptacle is inserted into the header at a slight angle by offering the cable end in first, this engages with the positive lock. The mating operation is then finished by ‘swinging’ the other end of the receptacle in to engage with the friction lock which provides a tactile click
sensation to confirm correct mating. It also prevents the receptacle from floating. The positive lock can withstand a minimum of 5N of cable pull force ensuring that the socket can not be accidentally removed from the header. A small lever makes the unmating process very quick and easy. Durability is achieved with 30 mating cycles.
